Hillsborough Education Center
After the success of the museum in its corporate headquarters, Intel saw a need to develop visitor centers like the Intel Museum to educate and involve employees, visitors and local communities in the development of some of their satellite projects. The design of the Hillsborough, Oregon Information Center was the model used for visitor centers in Israel, the Philippines, China and other US installations. Many of the base exhibits on microprocessor design and fabrication developed for the Intel Museum were the backbone of this project and a giant walk through computer was added as an important element in the space. Half of the education center is devoted to an interactive classroom that showcases recent innovations in Intel products and technology. The classroom is an innovation in providing current information on the ever-changing development of computer software and hardware.
